Our mum, she is our hero
Stood guard and protected us;
From creepy crawlies and big brothers
Saying what's the fuss?
She's kept our secrets
Never betrayed or let us down;
If we upset her anytime
The worst we got was one of her frowns.
So today is the day when we honor her
Shower her with gifts and lots of love;
Let her know just how much we care
That she is appreciated over and above.
Flowers and chocolate are all well and good
As long as that's what she wants;
Usually my Mom needs a treat
Her hair done and a fancy restaurant.
So Mom I love you very much
Words cannot tell you just how deep;
Thank you for all those years
The ones you couldn't sleep.

While we honor all our mothers
With words of love and praise.
While we tell about their goodness
And their kind and loving ways.
We should also think of Grandma,
She's a mother too, you see....
For she mothered my dear mother
As my mother mothers me.
